FTD Launch is the education platform built by the team behind Full Time Drones, one of the nationā€™s leading commercial drone service providers. After years of operating in the field and generating millions in annual revenue across telecom, utility, mapping, LiDAR, and inspection work, we saw a gap....most drone education teaches people how to pass a test or complete a task, but not how to solve real problems, deliver value to clients, and build a sustainable career or business.
That is why FTD Launch was created. Our training combines proven field experience with practical, trade-school-style education designed to help operators understand the why behind the work, not just the steps. From Part 107 preparation and safety fundamentals to specialized inspection and data-collection training, FTD Launch equips drone professionals with the skills, judgment, and business knowledge to operate with confidence and create real opportunity.
Where The Idea....Launched
Full pun intended there....Founder and CEO of Full Time Drones and FTD Launch, Kyle New, ran into a problem as he was growing Full Time Drones. The contracts were continuing to grow, but the qualified pilots available to help were not scaling at the same rate. One on one training was not fast enough to keep up with the growth, so Kyle decided to put his production background to use. He developed video based training to help accelerate pilot's knowledge and skills and limit the in field training. The "ah-ha" came when FTD saw their pilot retention rate grow from 10% to 90% in a matter of months. The pilots average pay per day went from $280/day to $630/day, with some of the heavy hitters earning $1,500/day, and a new problem was created. Now the pilots were scaling faster than the work coming in. The proof was undeniable, and a few short years later....here we are.

I've been around Kyle since before Full Time Drones. I watched him launch FTD, grow the business and learned everything I know about the drone industry from him. I met Kyle a few years ago when I drove up to meet him for a day of telecom training. I didn't believe you could really make that much money flying a drone, but I watched that man go for an entire day while teaching me so much. I drove home that night and knew I had to figure out a way to make it work. The best thing about Kyle, is if you invest...he will match that energy and make sure you are successful. Here I am a few years later, and Kyle pushed me to go out on my own in the telecom space. Now I get to travel the country with my wife, make a crazy good living and do all the things I used to dream of doing....I'll leave you with this.
